Technologist

Overview:

The Technologist will provide technical leadership in developing and evaluating alternative substrate possibilities during feasibility and development phase in R&D.  The job requires excellent communication skills and intensive collaboration with external partners in evaluating and testing concepts.  The technologist will work with partners to specify process needs and evaluate partners’ technical and equipment capability.  A strong background in material science is preferred.  The work environment is dynamic and creative requiring adaptability in fast changing priorities and needs. 

Responsibilities:

·        Intensive collaboration with external partners on technical development

·        Process optimization, material evaluation and characterization

·        Working with equipment designer and specifying process needs

·        Working with cross functional engineers to integrate substrate with the rest of the product

·        10-30% traveling

Qualifications:

·        Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field, e.g. Materials Science, EE, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.

·        10+ year of experience in photovoltaic or related industries

·        Experienced in managing vendors, institutions, and potential technical partners

·        Good understanding of equipment limitations and capabilities

·        Structural root cause solving skills

·        Excellent and effective communication skills

·        Proficient in data analysis

·        Knowledge in high temperature materials and impurity migration is desirable
